Fun Private Lessons for Kids and Adults
Melody Tree Studios offers music lessons for kids and adults in a positive, encouraging learning environment. Lessons are taught with a student centered approach, inviting and encouraging students to take an active role in learning. Students enjoy learning fun music, working one on one with an experienced and enthusiastic instructor.

Guitar Lessons
Sean and Rachel teach guitar with a flexible approach that focuses on student goals and individual achievement. Beginning students focus on fundamentals such as reading, chords and harmonization, fretboard logic, ear training, etc, as well as playing their favorite music. More advanced students have differentiated instruction focused on their needs and goals, including but not limited to improvisation, lead guitar, chord logic, CAGED system, transposition, and much more.
Ukulele
Learn the joys of portable music! Ukulele students begin with the Hal Leonard ukulele series, where they learn to read both notated music and chord charts, with a healthy dose of strumming and singing. Once all of the open chords and first position notes have been learned, students get in the driver's seat, and Sean works with them to master their favorite songs, playing and singing everything from Woodie Guthrie to Paul McCartney to Taylor Swift.
Drum Lessons
Give yourself the gift of rhythm! Drum lessons begin with basic rhythm reading, beat division, and note values, and quickly progress to building an inventory of beats, limb independence, and playing and dissecting your favorite songs. Students are also accompanied by Sean on a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, and piano, giving a unique experience that quickly helps them develop their musicianship alongside their general drumming abilities, leading to well-rounded musicians who are ready to jam with friends, family, and future bandmates.
Songwriting Lessons
Discover the joy of songwriting and self-expression! Sean's songwriting students learn composition, basic music theory, and how to sing, harmonize, and accompany themselves on the instrument or instruments of their choice (piano, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, accordion, etc). Students compose their own songs, and develop melody, lyrics, and chords. Lessons are tailored to each individual student's existing skill-set, and interests.
